What is Dhoni's thought process behind resigning as a captain in ODI and T20?

I think that MS Dhoni have thought about the way Virat’s captaincy was going on these days. Lets take a look at how MS Dhoni’s captaincy really was:

MS Dhoni stands 3rd in the list in ODIs, 1st in T20s, 6th in Tests. What an outstanding feat achieved by him in the Int’l format.

There must be some sort of thought process in his mind that made him resign the captaincy crown.

I am not 100% sure, but still he might have thought to give a chance to Virat Kohli and in order to promote himself as a batsman.

He must have thought for a moment that he as a captain has achieved every feat in the international cricket that any cricket captain has ever achieved in the cricket history.

He must have been pressurized by someone to do so, i.e. some conspiracy might be there.

I don’t feel that there must be some more reasons.
