- Indian Freedom Movement witnessed Freedom Fighters coming from various strata of society. Many Tribal heroes have contributed to free India from the invasion of British. One such Tribal hero was Birsa Munda.
- Birsa Munda was an Indian Tribal Patriot, Religious Leader, and a Hero among the Folks of the Munda Tribe.
- He led the Religious Millenarian movement that arose in the tribal belt of present-day Bihar and Jharkhand in the late 19th Century, during the British Raj.
- He is known for accomplishing his achievements at early age, i.e. before his 25th birthday.
- His contribution to Indian Freedom can't be paralleled. Owing to this, his portrait hangs in the Central Hall of the Indian Parliament as a tribute to him.
- Till date, Birsa Munda is the only tribal leader to have such an honor.
