Behramji Malbari (1837-1925)

• He criticized child marriage and supported widow remarriage and to backward communities
• He wrote letters to the government to ban child marriage, include such lessons in textbooks and to outcaste priests who performed child marriages. Due to his efforts, in later days such a bill was passed
• Contribution in Journalism: Weekly called 'Indian Spectator', articles in Dadabhai Naoroji's 'Voice of India'
• He was instrumental in opening Seva Sadan with the help of Dayaram and Gidumal
