Jazz music

• Jazz is a form of popular music that originated in New Orleans around 1900.

• The chief inspiration for its origin were French and Spanish music, ragtime, blues, brass-band music and African slave songs.

• Early Jazz bands featured improvised solos on instruments such as the cornet, clarinet and trombone.

• In the 1920s Jazz spread to the other cities like Chicago and New York with the expanded bands that included Saxophones and additional cornets and trumpets.
