Bumrah, the hero!!

Yesterday was the 2nd T20 of the 3 match T20 International Series played between IND and ENG at Nagpur. IND started off steadily with the opening of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. Virat Kohli dismissed off very early on 21 runs. Later, KL Rahul batted brilliantly by scoring 71 runs of just 47 balls, with some short partnerships with Manish Pandey who scored 30 runs. Rest, the whole team collapsed with less than 10 runs by their side. Nagpur wicket was proving very difficult to bat on, but still team IND managed to put 144/8 runs on the board.

ENG have already won the first T20I and it was a great chance for them to seal the series. They started off brilliantly with the partnership of Sam Billings and Jason Roy. But, Ashish Nehra dismissed both of them in the same over.

Later, partnership began by Joe Root and Ben Stokes. It was expected that ENG can win this match easily with the required rate of just 6+. But the 18th over by Jasprit Bumrah changed the face of the game. In that over he just conceded 3 runs. Nehra was asked to bowl the 19th over in which he dismissed Ben Stokes. But, Jos Buttler managed to score a 6 and a 4 off the last two balls of his over.

Just 8 runs were required to win off the last over, but Jasprit Bumrah bowled with such an accuracy that he dismissed Joe Root on the first ball. The next ball was faced by Moeen Ali, in which he scored a single. ENG needed now, 7 off 4 balls. Jos Buttler faced the next ball in which he missed with ENG needing 7 off 3 balls. Jos Buttler then was bowled by Bumrah on the next ball, with ENG needing 7 off 2 balls. Chris Jordan was missed the ball, but still ran for a single in the form of bye-run. Last ball was very crucial as ENG needed 6 runs. Moeen Ali was on strike, but Bumrah bowled a full length delivery which Moeen Ali failed to hit and IND won the match by just 5 runs.

This match was one of the greatest in India's T20 matches played so far. Hats off to Jasprit Bumrah, who bowled beautifully in the death overs!! He is the hero of this match with his brilliant spell of 2-20 in 4 overs with 14 dot balls. Nice to see Bumrah back in form once again!!

Thanks for reading!!!
